The Confederation of East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) might end up breaking the rules in order to get a new president.
None of the member countries has expressed interest in the position as the nominations close today.
Unlike past years, when candidates could start campaigns years in advance, Cecafa Secretary-General Nicholas Musonye said over the weekend that no one had expressed interest in the presidency this time.
He said people had expressed interest for the working committees, but none had expressed interest in the presidents position.
Incumbent president Denis Obua`s term expires at the general assembly that is due in Dar es Salaam on November 26-27. Obua cannot run again since he is no longer in-charge of Uganda`s game.
Musonye is already assured of another four years as his post is by appointment.
Only presidential post will be contested for with the elected person appointing his vice among four executive committee members elected by congress.
Cecafa member countries are Tanzania Mainland, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Burundi, Rwanda, Zanzibar and Somalia.
Uganda has forwarded names of Justus Mugisha (youth), Asuman Lubowa (technical), Charles Masembe (referees) and Patrick Ogwelo (ethics) seeking places in the regional bodys committees.
Tanzania will also host Cecafa`s Senior Challenge Cup in Dar es Salaam from December 8-22.
The member countries will send one team each.
