Jamhuri Stadium will be heavily renovated after the end of the first round of the Vodacom Premier League which will end on November 5.
The stadium manager, Herman Ndissa, said yesterday that the first phase of the renovation would be done in the fence which was destroyed by fans of Yanga and Simba when their teams met last Wednesday. Simba won 1-0.
He said the next stage of the renovation would be done in the changing rooms, toilets and planting grass.
``The stadium is totally damaged because five teams are using it as their home ground,`` Ndissa said.
Jamhuri Stadium has been hosting more than four matches a week. Teams using the pitch as their home ground are Simba and Yanga who moved to Morogoro after the closure of the National Stadium which was also under renovation.
Moro United, Police Morogoro and Mtibwa Sugar are also using the ground.
