Sebastian Mtupili comes proud fourth at Diani Beach Masters

Tanzanian Sebastian Mtupili finished fourth in the Diani Beach Masters championship at Leisure lodge Golf Club in South Coast, Mombasa over the weekend.

Mtupili scored a two over par 74 on countback in the event which was won by Simon Ngige of Thika Golf Club.

A report from Mombasa said that Mtupili tied on a total gross score of 153 points with Kenya�s Hitewn Kumar who finished fifth.

Ngige emerged the overall winner with a two over 73 points when he registered a total gross of 147 points. Snow, who led in the first rounds on Saturday with a two under par 70 points, finished on a total gross points of 150.

The defending champion, Francis Kimani, of Limuru settled for the third place on a total gross score of 152, after completing the final rounds with a two over par 74.

He was a point ahead of Mtupili.
The three-day competition that attracted 128 players, including 28 from Tanzania, was sponsored by Kenya Airways.

The Diani Beach Masters is a one of the major events in the Kenya Gold Union (KGU) calendar and counts towards the Golfer of The Year awards.

Following Sunday`s event, Greg Snow leads the Golfer of The Year with 96 points, David Wakhu has 70.50 points, Simon Ngige 59.08 points, Ken Abuto 57.50 points and Paul Thuo 39.25, among others.
