Tanzania has pulled out of the World Amateur Boxing Championships which starts on Sunday and ends on November 3 in Chicago, United States.
The Boxing Federation of Tanzania (BFT) President, Shabaan Mintanga, said yesterday that they withdrew after failing to get money to send the team to the games.

He said Federation of International Boxing Amateur (Fiba) would fine Tanzania 8,000 dollars (about 9m/-) for pulling out in the last minutes.
`The fine would be required to be paid before we compete in the next Olympic qualifiers game to be in Kampala, Uganda next month,` Mintanga said.
About 13 boxers have been training at the JKT Mgulani under coaches Benjamin Mwangata and Nassoro Michael for the last two months.
They are Ally Kimwaga, Emillian Patrick, Petro Mtagwa, Joseph Martine, Muhsin Mohamed, Hashim Simon, Rajabu Omary, Mohamed Rashid, Mrisho Adam, Leonard Machichi, Lusajo Mwaipopo (light) and Amosi Godwin.
