AT picks 20 to start Olympic preps

Athletics Tanzania (AT) has picked 20 best runners to start preparing for the next year`s Olympic Games qualifications.

AT Secretary-General Suleiman Nyambui said yesterday that there were only four women in the team which would be trained by five coaches.

Nyambui did not name the athletes and trainers who were picked by AT saying that it was too early to expose them.

He said athletics who would perform well will compete in the Olympic qualifying games in South Africa and Australia next year.

`This time we want to make the `Olympic possible` because we have started earlier preparations,` Nyambui claimed.
Meanwhile, Nyambui urged the government to see the need of supporting AT so that they could meet Olympic qualifications.
