Simba now `suspend` six top leaders

Simba Team
A group of Simba members yesterday ``indefinitely suspended`` six executive committee members, including their chairman, for embezzlement and misappropriation of the club's funds.

The 217 members had met at the club house in Dar es Salaam.
The meeting was called by the club`s publicity secretary, Said Rubeya `Seydou,` following the team`s poor performance in the ongoing Vodacom Mainland Premier League.

Rubeya highlighted problems which the club had been facing, including the alleged misappropriation of the funds by some leaders.

Seydou claimed that the officials misused the money given by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) for supporting the team during the league.

He alleged that the officials embezzled 10,000 dollars (about 12.5m/-) which was donated by Adidas.

Rubeya also claimed that 2m/- was missing from the 6.4m/- which was the club's share in their Premier League match against their arch-rivals Yanga.

He also charged that the officials had squandered 28m/- collected from club house tenants.

The meeting decided that Rubeya would lead the team in collaboration with the elders` committee.
