Beckham has not featured for Galaxy since 29 August
LA Galaxy coach Frank Yallop is hopeful David Beckham will make his comeback from a knee injury in Thursday's match against New York Red Bull.
Beckham resumed full training on Tuesday following the injury that has kept him sidelined since 29 August.
Yallop said: "He's close to being 100%, but we're not going to force him in there against New York Red Bull.
"I think he's going to be a little bit rusty, not being in the squad, but I think he's moving well."
Yallop's side have won their last five matches without Beckham and two wins from their remaining two fixtures will see them qualify for the MLS play-offs.
And the Galaxy coach hinted that the 32-year-old would start from the bench against New York as he seeks to continue his side's unbeaten run.
"I've got to talk to him to make sure he's feeling good. He'd be a pretty valuable substitute if he was available," Yallop said.
Forward Landon Donovan believes the England midfielder is ready to return after stepping up his training this week.
"David looks great," he said. "He gets into tackles, he's sprinting, so he looks good to me.
"He's getting closer but it takes time to build the fitness back and get back into the flow of it again."
