Maulidi cleared for Angolan club
YANGA have released their attacking midfielder Said Maulid to join Angolan premier league side, Bravo du Maquiz on a three-year contract.
The club general secretary Lucas Kisasa said the player would join the Angolans next month in Mozambique, where they will be holding a pre-season camp.
“We have agreed terms with the Angolans and signed the registration forms, therefore Maulid is their bonafide player,” said Kisasa.
Maulid played for Simba before joining Yanga about seven years ago. He has been a regular player in the national team as well.
Angola is increasingly becoming a favourite destination for players from East Africa region seeking to join professional ranks. Kenyan striker Allan Wanga joined the Angolan league champions Petro Atletico de Luanda from local league side Tusker on a four-year contract. The transfer fee is worth $15 000, the officials said.
The 22-year-old Wanga said he hoped to fill the void left by Manucho Goncalves, who is in England on trial with the reigning club champions Manchester United.
