The Ahly striker has been left out of the Pharoahs' squad for Ghana
In-form Al Ahly striker Ahmed Bilal has been left out of Egypt's preliminary squad for the Nations Cup in Ghana next month.
Bilal has been scoring regularly in the Egyptian league in recent weeks.
He had been seen as a potential replacement for the injured Mido in the squad.
Mido, as expected, is not in the line-up.
The controversial striker, who has had a fiery relationship with coach Shehata over the years, has been suffering from injury.
But his English Premier League manager, Gareth Southgate, suggested the striker could be fit for the latter stages of the tournament.
