Tonel keyed up for new Sporting test

Tonel is excited about Sporting's UEFA Cup prospects

Tonel says Sporting Clube de Portugal are setting their sights high as they look forward to the next phase of their European campaign in the UEFA Cup.

Sporting signed off from the UEFA Champions League with a flourish, beating Ukrainian champions FC Dynamo Kyiv 3-0 at the Estádio José Alvalade to match their record points total in the competition of seven, which they also reached in 1997/98. Centre-half Tonel said his side were looking on their move into the UEFA Cup Round of 32, saying: "We have the UEFA Cup, where again we're going to face a lot of really good teams who will be strong and competitive." Tonel, who scored the first goal in the away win in Kyiv on Matchday 2, said the Lisbon club felt they had unfinished business in the UEFA Cup, having lost the 2005 final in their home stadium to PFC CSKA Moskva. "We want to get the end, and that means winning it."
