Saha salutes steady United season
Louis Saha (in white) enjoyed his run out at Roma
Although his side fell short of joining the trio of clubs who have won all six UEFA Champions League group stage matches in a season striker Louis Saha was pleased with the way a youthful-looking Manchester United FC side held on for a 1-1 draw at AS Roma.
With a number of young starlets thrown into the fray to gain invaluable European experience, the likes of Johnny Evans, Chris Eagles and Danny Simpson held their own against Italian counterparts boasting Francesco Totti, Mancini and Rodrigo Taddei among their number. Indeed one of United's youngsters, Gerard Piqué, even got on the scoresheet, only for Mancini to level the scores with 19 minutes left. "It was a very good game," Saha told uefa.com. "At the start we thought we were going to be under a lot of pressure but we did really well and were very competitive. It was an entertaining match and a good performance by the team."
