Wiggins and Cavendish join forces

Bradley Wiggins is to establish a track partnership with Mark Cavendish, a move that hints at a possible GB Madison team for the Beijing Olympics.
Wiggins will team up with Cavendish at the Six Days of Ghent track cycling event on 20-25 November.

"I've never ridden with Mark before so it will provide some important technical experience," said Wiggins.

"The plan will be to stay out of trouble and get some good racing experience together."

Olympic pursuit champion Wiggins makes his return to track racing at the Revolution series on 17 November, and is using the Manchester and Ghent events as part of his preparation for the World Championships and Olympics next year.

"I won't be doing any of the World Cups, so races like Revolution and Ghent will be perfect for me and form part of my training and preparation," he said.

After an incredible first professional road season with 11 wins, sprinter Cavendish got his track season off to a flying start at the Revolution event on 20 October, winning both the scratch and the Madison, with fellow British youngster, Ed Clancy.

Both Wiggins and Cavendish now ride for the T-Mobile road racing team, after Wiggins' recent move from Cofidis.
