Toure eyes Man Utd scalp

Kolo Toure has been a pivotal part of Arsenal's good form

Defender Kolo Toure is feeling confident ahead of Arsenal's top-of-table clash against Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The 26-year-old says the current side could emulate the success of previous sides built by manager Arsene Wenger.

"This team can achieve, definitely. In the past we have had great sides with a great mentality," the Ivorian said.

"But we have talent (again) and we are all so young - Arsenal is the place to be as we're all focused on winning."

Toure is currently Arsenal's longest serving player having made his debut for the double-winning side of 2002.

And the Ivory Coast defender says there is the same feel-good factor in the team now that existed in the side he broke in to five years ago.

"We're really enjoying our football at the moment, scoring goals, keeping clean sheets and making the fans happy.

"Last season we struggled to adapt to playing in our new stadium but we are used to it now," Toure said.

A home-win tomorrow would see the Gunners three-points clear at the top of the Premier League.

"Nobody was expecting us to be where we are this season but we worked very hard in the pre-season and because of our togetherness we have started well.

"We know there are still plenty of games to come over the season, and it will be hard because there are many big teams out there who want to kick us.

"But this team can achieve, definitely."
