The former Tunisia captain is on his way back to Esperance
Veteran Tunisia defender Khaled Badra is on his way back to his former club, Esperance.
The former national team captain played for the Tunis based giants for many years, before moving to Saudi Arabia.
He has now terminated his contract with the Saudi club Ahli Jeddah in order to return home.
The decision to release him from the deal was agreed by both sides.
“I decided to return to Tunisia for family reasons,” the player who featured in both 1998 World Cup and 2002 World Cup told the TZNEWS.
“My planning was to retire from football with Esperance and I think it is about time to do that.”
“[But] I hope to play for a year or two before I do it.”
Badra helped his country win the Nations cup at home soil three years ago before quitting international football.
He also played for Genoa in Seria B in Italy and Denizlispor in the Turkish league.
