The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has imposed a three-month ban on Yanga player Athumani Idd.
TFF Secretary-General Fredrick Mwakalebela said yesterday that the body`s disciplinary committee which met recently banned the midfielder because he misbehaved when his team played Coastal Union in the ongoing Vodacom Premier League.
Mwakalebela said that reports from commissioner of the match played at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga on September 26 said that Idd insulted the referee after the end of the match which Yanga lost 1-0.
Mwakalebela said Idd`s punishment was strong because he was fond of repeating same mistakes.
Earlier this year, TFF banned Idd in the Tusker Challenge Cup when he insulted Simba fans in the tournament which was staged at the CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.
He named other players who were banned for six months each for misbehaving as Selemani Batili of Toto Africans, Ally Yussuf and Kulwa Mobby (Moro United).
Simba manager Amri Saidi `Kasusura was suspended for two months.
He said the former Simba defender unlawfully entered into the pitch when his team played Police Moro on September 26 at Morogoro`s Jamhuri Stadium.
TFF has also banned referees Vicent Ndunguru and Damian Mabena for six months each.
Ndunguru failed to control the match between Simba and Manyema at the Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga on September 3.
Mabena also failed to man a league match between Yanga and Kagera on September 6.
