Radio One presenter Moses Justin is dead

Moses Justin, for the last eight years a popular presenter with Radio One, is no more.

The sad news was confirmed by the station`s Director, Julius Nyaisanga, yesterday.

He said Justin succumbed to diabetes at around 3:00am yesterday at Dar es Salaam`s Mission Mikocheni Hospital, where he had been admitted.

Until his death, Justin also served as Nyaisanga`s deputy and anchored a music programme known as `Mtaa wa Mangoma and a news analysis one `African Panorama`.

More popularly known by his fans as Papaa Moo, the presenter was a popular disc jockey in the Rwandan capital Kigali in the early 1990s before fleeing back home at the time of the 1994 genocide there.

According to Nyaisanga, funeral arrangements are being made at the residence of the late Justin`s sister at Kijitonyama in Dar es Salaam.

Records show that Justin was born in Tabora Region in 1965 and joined Radio One as a presenter on May 1, 1999.

He had previously worked in similar capacity with Arusha`s Radio Five from 1996 to 1997 and then Tanzanite Radio, also in Arusha, from 1997 to 1998.

The late Justin is survived by a wife and a son.
