Hamilton is four points clear heading into the final race
Lewis Hamilton has revealed he may visit the grave of Formula One legend Ayrton Senna after the season finale Grand Prix in Brazil.
Three-time world champion Senna, who was killed in the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, is Hamilton's inspiration.
And the 22-year-old Briton, who is on the verge of winning the world title in his debut season, said: "I'll find it emotional and moving to go there.
"After the race I have time as I can stay a couple of days in Brazil."
But first Hamilton is focused on the race in Sao Paolo, into which he takes a four-point lead over McLaren team-mate and reigning world champion Fernando Alonso.
Hamilton added: "I'll think about visiting Senna's grave after the race.
"It's important I have a clear mind going into the race weekend, and that would be too emotional to do before the race."
The British driver could have clinched the title last weekend in China, but failed to finish for the first time in his rookie season after he slid off the track on his way into the pit lane to change his tyres.
Now he is determined to finish the job and insists he is not feeling the pressure after that error.
"I've a lot of confidence in myself," he said. "It's got to be a hard hit knowing the world championship was there and I didn't take it, but it's still there to win.
"In spite of having a DNF (did not finish) in China I'm still in the lead and I've still a good chance of winning, so I'm feeling pretty cool as I'm in the best position to do that.
"I'm mentally stronger after the weekend in China. Some drivers would be on the back foot, but I've taken the negatives and made them into positives."
However, Hamilton hinted he may adjust his attitude to the race - perhaps playing the percentages this time rather than going for broke.
He said: "I will approach the race in the same way as always, to win it. However, I understand the position I'm in and what I have to do.
"I aim on finishing on the podium and know I can't take risks - maybe I took a risk at the last race.
"Some part of my mind will be focused on the end result, ie: winning the world championship and not the race - but I go to win."
