Wael Gomaa has signed a loan deal with Qatari side Al-Siliya
Al-Ahly centre half Wael Gomaa has signed a six-month deal to play for Qatari side Al-Siliya.
The Doha-based side have paid US$170,000 for the 32-year-old Egypt defender.
It is the first significant movement of personnel since Al-Ahly surrendered the African Champions League title to Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel recently.
The Egyptian 'Red Devils' lost 3-1 on aggregate and missed out on the chance to become the first team to retain the trophy for three years in a row.
Gomaa was permitted to leave from the Pharaohs' camp, who are currently playing in the Pan Arab Games in Cairo, for two days to complete the move.
Al-Siliya are currently third from bottom in the Qatari league after nine weeks of the competition.
The Qatari club also made an official bid to sign Mohamed Aboutrika, but their request was refused by the Cairo giants.
